The Gut Health Reset: 5 Gentle Habits to Feel Better From the Inside Out

    Feel better—without the overwhelm

If you’ve been dealing with bloating, low energy, cravings, or that “something feels off” feeling, you’re not alone—and you’re not broken. Gut health is deeply connected to your stress levels, sleep, movement, and the foods you eat most consistently. The good news: small, steady shifts can create real change.

I’m Kristen Vavricka, holistic gut health and lifestyle coach at Vav It Up Lifestyle & Coaching. My approach focuses on root causes and sustainable habits so you can feel better from the inside out—without a rigid plan you can’t maintain.

5 gentle habits that support digestion and energy

    • Start with hydration (and minerals). Begin your day with a full glass of water. If you tend to feel sluggish or get headaches, consider adding a pinch of sea salt or an electrolyte you tolerate well.
    • Build a balanced plate. Aim for protein + fiber + healthy fat at meals. This supports blood sugar balance, reduces cravings, and keeps energy steadier throughout the day.
    • Eat in a calmer state. Digestion starts in the nervous system. Take 3 slow breaths before your first bite, chew a little more than you think you need to, and try to sit down for at least one meal a day.
    • Add one “rainbow” food daily. Choose one colorful plant food—berries, leafy greens, carrots, beets, peppers. Variety supports a healthier gut microbiome over time.
    • Choose a 10-minute movement anchor. A short walk after meals, gentle stretching, or a quick strength circuit can support motility, mood, and metabolism—especially when done consistently.

You don’t need a perfect routine—you need a supportive one you can repeat.

Where to begin (if you want a simple plan)

If you’re not sure which habit to start with, choose the one that feels most doable this week. Then track one small signal—energy after lunch, bloating in the evening, sleep quality, or cravings. Those clues help us identify what your body is asking for.

And if you want support, that’s exactly what coaching is for. We’ll look at your symptoms, your lifestyle, and your goals—then build a personalized plan that fits your real life.

Not sure if coaching is right for you? Start with a 30-minute consult to talk through what you’re experiencing and what you want to change.
